My Journey of coffee with Don Luciano (My Grandfather)
Hola my friends, today I want to share with you a story about a love affair that began many years ago, and many miles from Aotearoa. When I was a young boy in Honduras I was very close with my grandfather, Don Luciano. I idolised him.
He taught me a lot over the years, and passed on his great love for coffee to me through just being in love with it himself. I used to make coffee for my grandfather, but it was not good at first.
He corrected me and showed me the right way to make it. He was particular about it, and taught me to be so too. When we are learning we need guidance, it is a fact of life.
Sitting with my grandfather drinking coffee, working with him to prepare the beans, learning the whole process, I fell in love. The thing is my friends, it was here the spark was made, the spark that lit the fire in my heart.
Today I am writing to share the story of how it all began. The passion I have for coffee and its creation led me to the creation of my very own coffee, Gracias.
Gracias coffee is in my opinion the perfection of years of work, years of searching for the right beans, years of struggling to perfect the process, years of work to get it just right.
Gracias coffee is a tribute to my grandfather, and other people who have passed on love and knowledge to me. It is my pleasure to share with you the taste of my love affair with this magical bean and the feeling it gives us. Coffee is not just a drink, it is a smell, a moment, a memory. It is magic.
I love coffee and I love people. I love to prepare and make coffee for people. It makes me happy to see you happy. Please try my Gracias coffee, you will not be disappointed, it is my gift to you, from Honduras to Aotearoa and everywhere in between.
